Gretsch Rancher models are affordable OM-sized guitars, and they belong to the Acoustic Collection. Thus far, several Rancher models have been introduced into the lineup, but for 2015, the G5013CE Rancher Jr is making its debut. It is a single-cut guitar with the standard Rancher construction and Fishman electronics. Back, sides and the top are all made of mahogany (neck is made of mahogany too, thus giving a pretty solid, strong and warm tone to this affordable OM). Back and sides feature laminated mahogany, while the top is made of solid wood. Black, with glossy finish and white binding, is the only color option available for the junior Rancher. Bridge on the top is fixed, belly contoured, and features a compensated saddle. Beneath that compensated saddle, Gretsch installs a Fishman Sonicore under-saddle pickup, which is connected to the (also) Fishman Isys preamp. Isys/Sonicore combination is one of the most popular in the intermediate class, and can give even the more expensive rigs a good run for their money. Mahogany neck on this beautiful Rancher is attached at the 14th fret, and features a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard on top. Grover tuners, synthetic bone nut and three-ply tortoise pickguard wrap up the specs list.
