Arcos series is one of the corner stones of the Guild catalog and it features some of the essential models. For 2013 it has been updated with two new models, AD-5CE and AO-5CE. These two rather similar models have one major difference, the shape. AO-5CE is an orchestra model, while the AD-5CE is a dreadnought. AO-5CE is a single-cut guitar with acoustic-electric construction. It`s body is made of laminated rosewood back and sides with solid sitka spruce top. Back side is arched and is the reason behind the series name. All Arcos models have arched back. It is the concept Guild introduced back in the 1950s and is having a big comeback in 21st century. Top is flat and bound in white binding. Also, it features a black pickguard and single-circle rosette. Bridge section is a standard one, it sports a belly-contoured rosewood bridge. Electronics are supplied by Fishman. Main features is the side-mounted preamp with an integrated tuner. Mahogany neck on this model is finished in thin coat of satin and sports a dovetail joint. It is topped with a regular 20-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Medium jumbo frets, 1.75" bone nut and 12" radius are featured on the fingerboard. Ping tuners and 25-1/2" scale complete the specs list.
