Sage Series offers beginner`s guitars in both acoustic and acoustic-electric variants. It`s models are characterized by richer color palettes than most of the models and series they compete against. SGT120 is one of three new models introduced for the summer 2012 edition of the catalog. It comes with a non-cutaway dreadnought body with dovetail neck joint. Ibanez assigned vintage sunburst color to this model and finished it in high gloss. his color scheme is matched with a set of chrome-plated tuners. Body on this model is made of mahogany back and sides with spruce top. Top panel is equipped with a plastic pickguard and bound in creme binding. There are no electronics installed on this model, for Ibanez opted to go fully acoustic on this one. Even though a beginner`s series Sage models offer surprisingly good tone for the money invested, which is one of two strong points of this line. Neck is made of mahogany and it sports a series standard contour in the back. It is topped with a fingerboard made of rosewood. 20 frets, white dot position inlays, 1.69" wide ivorex II nut and 12" radius complete the fingerboard specs. Also, Sage SGT120 features 25-1/2" scale.
