SGE220 is a brand new model introduced by Ibanez into the Sage series of beginner`s acoustic guitars. It is one of three novelties for the summer of 2012. This model comes with a series standard dreadnought-shaped body with non-cutaway design. Vintage Sunburst and Cherry Sunburst are two color options assigned to this steel stringer and they both come finished in high gloss lacquer. Ibanez matches thee color schemes with chrome-plated hardware. Body is made of mahogany back and sides, while the top panel is made of spruce. Since this model belongs to the beginner`s series body is made of laminated tone woods. Top is bound in creme binding and equipped with a large plastic pickguard. Central sound hole sports a double circle rosette. Bridge section on SGE220 has a standard-shaped bridge made of rosewood. In the electronics department, Ibanez AP3 magnetic pickup is mounted above the sound hole and just behind the fingerboard. It is accompanied by Ibanez AEQ200MT preamp. Neck is made of mahogany and it is equipped with a standard back contour. Rosewood is the material of choice for the fingerboard. It comes with 20 frets, block inlays, 12" radius and 1.69" wide ivorex II string nut.
