Travel Series from Johnson Guitars bring a specific spin on the travel guitar design. A concept with constant rise in popularity in recent years, travel guitar concept has been tackled by many different manufacturers. Most of them only shortened the scales, while some scaled the bodies to match the shrinked scales. On the other side, Johnson Guitars shrinked the body and left the scales at reasonable 24-3/4". On JG-TR6, the whitewood construction of the body is followed with a 15-fret dovetail joint with a mahogany neck. Upper and lower bouts are moved back one fret and the curves of the body look a lot like parlor. Bottom of the body is shortened to compensate for the large scale. Bridge and 21-fret fingerboard are made of rosewood.
