CEO models are the regular residents of the Special Edition series, as they`re built only on special occasions and in special situations. CEO-8 is, quite naturally, the eighth installment in this exclusive line. Apart from its formal and executive name, this CEO is a true boss among the big flat-tops. It rocks the grand jumbo body (a close relative to the original Gibson jumbo shape, by which Martin was inspired when making this bog ol` steel-string). Special Edition, every luthier`s dream playground, is a place to fully spread the wings of imagination and soar above the clouds. CEO-8 comes with a big, robust and very resonant body made of solid sycamore and solid Sitka spruce. Of course, sycamore is employed on the sides and in the back, while the spruce keeps its default position on the top. This executive flat top is clad in the sophisticated and vintage-styled Cherry Burst and features generous inlays on the beautifully shaped pickguard, as well as abalone rosette. Around the top, Martin installs the discreet black boltaron binding. D-Tar Wave-length Multi-Source electronics are featured under the hood. Mahogany neck is attached to the body at the 14th fret (classic dovetail joint solution is applied here) and has the well known and very popular low oval w/PA taper profile. Ebony fingerboard is fit with a set of 20 frets with split parallelogram inlays and a 1.75" wide bone nut. List of major specs of this six-string boss concludes with a stylish set of six gold-plated pearloid Keystone tuners. The list price of $6.999 makes it clear that this masterpiece is made for professional musicians and collectors.
