This brand new Retro lineup is inspired by the actual prewar acoustic guitars and represents the closest thing to actually playing a prewar guitar in mint condition. Currently, there are four models named Retro, three dreadnoughts and one orchestra model. D-18E Retro is a non-cutaway dreadnought guitar with Fishman electronics and solid woods. It comes in natural color with high gloss finish on the body and satin on the back of the neck. To match this Martin chose to install nickel-plated butterbean tuners and tortoise binding around the body. Back and side panels on D-18E Retro are made of east Indian rosewood and the top is made of solid sitka spruce. Tortoise shell is installed on the top and it complements the overall tortoise theme. Bridge is made of ebony and it features compensated TUSQ saddle. Electronics installed on this model are consisted of Fishman`s F1 Aura Plus system with side mounted control knobs. Neck is made of selected hardwood and it comes with modified low oval contour with satin finish in the back. Ebony fingerboard is equipped with 20 frets, old style 18 inlays and 1-3/4" bone nut. Scale measures 25-2/5" in length.
