Brand new line of models labeled Retro is coming up just in time to be unveiled at 2012 Summer NAMM. This is the line of acoustic-electric guitars inspired by the prewar acoustics from the golden age. D-45 Retro is the first of four Retro models and it comes with a non-cutaway dreadnought body. Only high quality materials were used on this dread. Natural colored D-45 is finished in high gloss and equipped with a combination of gold-plated butterbean tuners and grained ivoroid bindings. Body is made of solid east Indian rosewood back and sides, with the top made of solid sitka spruce. Bracing pattern applied is X and the neck joint is a dovetail. Top panel is equipped with a tortoise shell pickguard. Bridge section features a standard shaped bridge made of ebony. It has a compensated TUSQ saddle. In the electronics area Martin installs Fishman F1 Aura Plus system with side mounted control knobs. Neck is made of select hardwood and it features a low oval contour with Artist taper. This neck is topped with a 20-fret fingerboard made of ebony. Snowflake inlays and 1.75" wide bone nut complete the fingerboard of this 25-2/5" scaled Retro dread.
