Limited Edition Acoustic-Electric Guitars by Martin
It`s now been full five decades since Martin introduced the legendary D-35 dreadnought guitar. For such a big milestone, D-35 is getting an appropriate treatment. Among the exclusive guitars introduced for the winter 2015, D-35 Brazilian 50th Anniversary is being introduced. It is on the non-VTS side (VTS - Vintage Tone System) and is also, one of the more affordable models. Due to the facts that it costs "only" $6,999.00 and that it will be made in 100 copies (all numbered and signed by C. F. Martin IV). Kicking off the specs list review, this special D-35 rocks the Madagascar rosewood sides and wing panels on the back (between the Madagascar rosewood wings, Martin installs a Brazilian rosewood wedge). Certified European spruce sound board is bound in grained ivoroid and features the classic black pickguard. Solid ebony bridge has a compensated bone saddle with 16" radius. Following in the footsteps of the original D-35, this celebratory model comes without electronics. Genuine mahogany neck is fit with a 14th fret dovetail joint and modified low oval profile. Ebony fingerboard is solid, bound and fit with a standard set of 20 frets. Chrome-plated tuning machines, 25-2/5" scale and 1-3/4" wide bone nut wrap up the features list.
