D-14 is a full-sized dreadnought guitar, one of several limited editions Martin C. F. has introduced for the 2015 edition of the NAMM show. This non-cutaway dreadnought comes with a flat*top body, neck attached at the 14th fret and many special features. Solid cocobolo is utilized for the back and sides of this full-sized dreadnought, while on the other side, on the top, genuine Adirondack spruce is found. As for the styling , this model is deeply rooted in the golden era dreadnought heritage. Grained ivoroid binding, black teardrop guard with the original C. F. Martin Purple motif (bridge and fingerboard also feature the Martin Purple motif inlays) and an elaborate sound hole rosette grace the top. Belly-contoured bridge is fit with a compensated TUSQ saddle and is made of ebony. D-41 starts off as a completely acoustic steel-stringer, though if requested, Martin offers optional amplification. Mahogany neck is fit with a modified low oval profile in the back (one of their original and most popular neck profiles), as well as a standard 14th fret dovetail joint. Ebony fingerboard rocks the gorgeous Purple Martin inlays, 1-3/4" bone nut and chic ivoroid binding. Open-geared tuners with gold plating wrap up the specs list.
