Special Editions` DST dreadnought is a one-of-a-kind beast; it`s loaded with some seriously premium features, but it costs far less than the Standard series dreads. C.F. Martin`s site cites that DST was designed with the European market in mind and proudly made in the US of A. DST costs $2,399, some $1000-$1,500 less than the Standard D models, and brings a lot of features reserved for the Standard models (forward-shifted bracing, all-solid construction, tortoise decorations, etc). Core construction features include sapele back & sides, solid Sitka spruce top (faux tortoise binding), select hardwood neck (modified low oval shape), and 20-fret ebony fingerboard (25.4" scale, 1.75" bone nut). Other notable features include spruce-made bracing, solid ebony bridge, and gold-plated tuners.
