The luxurious D-420, introduced at 2017 NAMM, is finally getting an X series variant - enter DX420. The custom graphic painted by Robert Goetzl graces the soundboard of the new 420, but underneath it there`s a genuine X series dread. Main features include HPL back/sides/top panels, a standard 14th fret dovetail joint, standard 25-2/5" scale, affordable hardware, and Fishman`s Sonitone electronics (pickup & preamp). The Robert Goetzl graphic is the only available color option. The list price for DX420 is set at $799, which is a pretty much a standard price for an X series model. Other notable features include mahogany grain pattern on the back & sides, a rust birch (laminate) neck w/20-fret richlite fingerboard on top, a richlite bridge, and die-cast tuners.
