Martin Guitars is one of the oldest and most popular brands of acoustic guitars in the world. Along with Gibson, Washburn and a few selected others, they form the base of the acoustic guitar industry. Legacy of the Martin Guitars is one of the greatest in the entire industry. As times pass by, Martin, just like other brands, has to modify, evolve and develop their models and series to suit the times, current trends, styles and players. Even in 2013, Martin is among the modern and current brands of acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars. But, for Summer NAMM 2013, Martin has prepared a pair of vintage-styled guitars, for players who still like their steel-stringers with traditional tone and appearance. One of them is J12-16GTE, a jumbo-sized twelve-stringer. It comes with a non-cutaway body made of solid mahogany back and sides with solid spruce sound board. Bridge section on this model is fit with a classic black richlite bridge with TUSQ saddle. Tortoise pickguard is featured in the front. Under the hood, there`s D-Tar Wave Length Multi-Source system. Neck is made of mahogany and it is topped with a classic 20-fret fingerboard made of black richlite. Fingerboard also features standard-sized frets, dot inlays and 1-13/16" corian nut. The MSRP is set at $1,999.
