For the fall of 2012 Takamine has prepared all new Pro Series 1 line of acoustic-electric guitars. There is a total of seven models in this new series with many features being common series traits. One of the models from this line is P1D, a non-cutaway dreadnought guitar with scalloped X bracing construction. Body of this guitar is made of sapele back and sides and cedar sound board. This model is available only in natural color with a combination of gloss and satin finish. Gloss is applied on top, while the satin goes on the sides and back of the guitar. Top panel features multi-ply binding and black plastic pickguard. Bridge section is a regular one with belly-shaped rosewood bridge being installed. It features split bone saddle and black string pins. Electronics are uniform for the entire Pro Series 1 line of guitars and includes Takamine`s Palathetic pickup and CT4B II preamp with three-band equalizer. Neck is made of African mahogany and it`s attached to the body with a 14th fret dovetail joint. On top of the neck Takamine installs a rosewood-made fingerboard with 20 frets. dot inlays and bone nut complete the fingerboard. Tuners installed on the headstock are plated in chrome.
