P1JC 12 is a jumbo shaped twelve-stringer from the new Pro Series 1 line of acoustic-electric guitars. This time around Takamine elected jumbo shaped guitar for the 12-string treatment. Basically, this one is the regular P1JC with added second course of strings. Thus, the P1JC 12 comes with single cutaway and scalloped X bracing beneath the sound board. Back and sides are made of sapele and top is made of cedar. This is series` common trait. Top panel is embellished with several layers of binding and black plastic pickguard. This model comes in natural color and Takamine combines the gloss with satin finish. Gloss is on top and satin on sides and back. Standard situation is also found in the bridge section, where Takamine installs a regular rosewood-made bridge with a two-piece bone saddle. In the electronics department Takamine predominantly installs their own equipment and this series is no exception. Palathetic pickup and CT4B II preamp are installed on all Pro Series 1 models. Preamp is equipped with a three-band equalizer. African mahogany is used for the neck, which is equipped with the 14th fret dovetail joint and rosewood fingerboard on top. 20 frets, white dot position inlays and bone nut complete the fingerboard. Chrome plating is applied on tuning machines.
