NEX is Takamine`s own design and is, basically, the backbone of the entire catalog. The purpose of the compact NEX is to bring together the power of a dreadnought guitar and balance of a compact body. P5NC comes with a single-cut body made of rosewood and spruce. Solid rosewood in the back, laminated sides and solid spruce sound board comprise the vintage-styled body. Multi-ply binding, rosewood bridge with split bone saddle and tortoise shell pickguard are featured on the top. Asymmetrical mahogany neck is attached at the 14th fret and topped with a series-standard rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets (dot in dot inlays, 1.678" bone nut). Electronics section is equipped with Takamine`s own Palathetic pickup (located under the string saddle) and stellar CTP-3 Cool Tube preamp system.
