Limited Edition Acoustic-Electric Guitars by Takamine
Takamine is, along with Yamaha and Ibanez, one of the biggest acoustic guitar manufacturers from Japan. They are the only one among these three brands dedicated solely to the production of the acoustic and acoustic-electric instruments. Their catalog is divided into two main segments, the G line which caters to the lower portions of the market and the Pro series, made for semi and fully professional musicians. For the fall of 2013, Takamine introduces the seductive TLE-M1 model. It is an orchestra guitar with non-cutaway design and exclusive selection of both tonewoods and hardware. It`s body is made of Malaysian Blackwood and Sitka spruce. Solid blackwood comprises the back and side panels, while the top is made of spruce. Flamed maple is used for the binding around the edges. Top is also adorned with a single-circle rosette and tortoise shell pickguard. Ebony bridge is fit with a two-piece bone saddle and has a piezo pickup installed underneath it. Neck is made of mahogany and it`s attached to the body with a standard 14th fret dovetail joint. 20-fret fingerboard on it`s top is made of ebony. Gold-plated tuners, 25-1/2" scale and 12" fingerboard radius complete the specs list. Takamine sets the MSRP at staggering $4,899.99.
