Taylor`s Academy series is there for all the players who are looking for a beginner guitar but are not very keen on the idea of buying a cheap overseas import with poor QC and tone. The current series` lineup of the series consists of only three models, two steel-stringers and one nylon-stringer. Academy 10e is an acoustic-electric dreadnought guitar with a short 24-7/8" scale, armrest bevel (similar to the Alvarez Regent series models), affordable electronics, and stripped-down styling. Taylor sells this one only in Natural color with a varnish finish. The MSRP is set at $649. Features highlights include laminated sapele back/sides, Sitka spruce top, mahogany neck, 20-fret west African fingerboard, a fixed bridge (w/classic Taylor contour), ES-B pickup/preamp system, and Taylor tuners.
