Even though it is named J-45 and considered a jumbo guitar in Gibson`s catalog, this model belongs to the dreadnought family of guitars. It is also known as the slope-shoulder dreadnought. This body type is featured in all of standard series made by Atkin Guitars. This particular J-45 comes from the Maple series and it features a fully acoustic body. Flamed maple back and sides are complemented with a standard Sitka spruce sound board and prewar scalloped bracing. This type of bracing gives Atkin`s models superb vintage-oriented tone. Maple is used as the neck material on the models from this series and it comes with a 14th fret dovetail joint. Also, it has a standard back contour with gloss finish. It is topped with a standard ebony fingerboard with 20 frets.
