Pioneer is at the same time the most popular and most affordable series in Avalon Guitars` catalog. Avalon Guitars come from Newtownards, Northern Ireland and all of their models (including Pioneer) are hand-made. Pioneer series has four active models, with common starting price of $4,590. Pioneer 1-10 kicks off with a non-cutaway body (small, jumbo, auditorium and dreadnought versions are available), made of mahogany (back, sides) and cedar (top). Additional extras, such as cutaway, left-hand orientation and a number of electronics units, are also available for order. The neck is made of mahogany and it is attached at the 14th fret, with 20-fret ebony fingerboard sitting on top. Other major features include a fixed rosewood bridge, 1.73" string nut and gold-plated tuners.
