Sj series in Collings catalog stands for small jumbo and it features models which have the traditional Jumbo shape, but are slightly smaller than Gibson`s Jumbos. Also, waist line of Collings Jumbos is slightly different, which causes a tremendous change in the tone. SJ model kicks off with a non-cutaway body made of maple back and sides with a solid sitka spruce top. The top is equipped with ivoroid binding, tortoise pickguard and triple circle rosette. The bridge is made of ebony and it comes with belly shape, ebony string pins and bone saddle. The neck is made of mahogany and is attached to the body at the 14th fret. Ebony fingerboard comes with 20 frets, dot position inlays. 25-1/2" scale, gold plated Schaller tuners and 1-11/16" bone nut complete the specs.
