HF 17 is a model from Hofner`s HF series of classical-acoustic guitars. It is one of the premier models of the series, with HF 18 being the only model ranked above this one. IT has a standard classical body with non-cutaway design and it`s made of spruce, mahogany and rosewood. Also, gold-plated hardware is used, which gives this model a certain note of elegance. Rosewood comprises back and side panels of the body with spruce sound board on the top. Creme binding and classical sound hole rosette are featured as decorations. Pickguard is omitted. Electronics are not installed on this model. Bridge is made of rosewood and it sports a regular contour. Mahogany-made bridge is attached to the body with a dovetail joint set at the 12th fret. 19-fret fingerboard is made of rosewood.
