HM badge stands for Hofner`s Master series and it signifies the guitars of greatest quality in Hofner catalog. HM 85 is a nylon-stringed classical acoustic guitar with non-cutaway design. This one`s also fully acoustic, as Hofner opted against electronics for this guitar. Non-cutaway body is made of mahogany back and sides with spruce sound board on top. This combo is very popular with steel-stringed guitars, but has also found it`s fans among the nylon-string players. Several layers of binding and classical rosette are combined with high gloss finish and gold-plated hardware. Bridge section is made of rosewood bridge with standard classical contour. Neck is made of mahogany and it sports a regular 12th fret dovetail joint. Rosewood fingerboard is equipped with 19 frets with no position inlays.
