HG 706 is the flagship model of the Altamira series by Hofner. This line of classical guitars is concentrated around the short scaled guitars made for students of classical guitar. 706 comes with 25-1/2" scale, which is a regular and standard scale length. It is the longest one in the series. Body of this model is made of bubinga and cedar, with bubinga comprising back and sides, while the cedar is on the top as the sound board. Top panel on this model is equipped with high gloss finish over the natural wood color, multi-ply binding and classical rosette. There is no electronics section installed on this model. Bridge is made of rosewood. Mahogany neck is attached to the body with a dovetail joint and topped with regular 19-fret rosewood fingerboard.
