HGL stands for Hofner Green Line and these are classical guitars made of sustainable wood resources. HGL 5 is the basic model of the series and it comes as a fully acoustic non-cutaway designed guitar. It`s body is made of walnut and spruce. Walnut is in the back and on the sides, while the spruce sits on the top. Top panel is equipped with several layers of binding and a classical rosette. For traditional reasons manufacturers and luthiers don’t install pickguards on classical guitars, and Hofner is no exception to this unwritten rule. Bridge section is a standard one with a regular bridge made of walnut. Mahogany is still used for the neck, but walnut appears again on the fingerboard. There are no position inlays on these standard classical frets. Tuning pegs are plated in gold.
