At 2016 NAMM show, Ibanez has introduced a huge line of acoustic and electric guitars. Among this multitude of around one hundred instruments, one spot was reserved for the AEG series of acoustic guitars. This popular line of compact-sized acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars competes mainly in lower intermediate and intermediate classes and is one of the mainstays of the acoustic section of Ibanez catalog. This time around, Ibanez has assigned a lone 12-string model to the AEG lineup. It is a single-cut guitar with a short 24.96" scale, Fishman/Ibanez electronics and also Ibanez hardware. Dark Violin Sunburst with high gloss finish is the only available color option.
AEG1812II comes in with a flat-top body with pretty comfortable measures - 19.25" length, 15" width and 4.33" maximum depth. Back and sides are made of mahogany, while the top is made of spruce. Mahogany neck with AEG profile in the back and a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard on top completes the chassis. 1.77" nut, dot inlays, standard-sized frets and 9.84" radius complete the fingerboard. Fishman Sonicore pickup and Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp form the amplification unit. Compensated rosewood bridge and Ibanez die-cast tuners provide an excellent tuning stability and intonation. They also conclude the list of major specs.
