AEL series features some of the largest acoustics in Ibanez catalog and intended for players who need a big, strong tone, with good projection. Most of the models come in acoustic-electric variant and with cutaway bodies. Scale length and body dimensions place the AEL guitars among the big ones, when compared to the competition. Ibanez`s 2016 NAMM show lineup has included one AEL model. It was no ordinary full-sized, full-scaled guitar, it was the first AEL series fanned fret guitar with composite scale. AELFF10 was its name and it also became the first fan-fretted Ibanez acoustic in $600 class.
AELFF10 comes with a single-cut AEL body (the largest Ibanez makes) made of rosewood (back & sides) and solid spruce top. The neck is made of mahogany and features the standard 14th fret dovetail joint. On its top, there is a rosewood fingerboard with 21 fanned frets. This means the high E string has a 25" scale, while the low E comes in at 26-3/4", which allows for a better string tension distribution and better tone quality of each string. Electronics unit features the standard Ibanez middle-class combo - Fishman Sonicore pickup and Ibanez AEQ-ST2 preamp. Fixed rosewood bridge with a slanted bone saddle and Grover die-cast tuners complete the specs list.
