JSA series represents the expansion of the Joe Satriani signature series to acoustic instruments. It was introduced at the NAMM show this January and contains two models. The one that will be reviewed in this article is JSA20, modern-shaped acoustic-eklectric guitar with extremely comfortable neck and stunning tone. Body contour is named JSA with cutaway by Ibanez and it features rosewood back and sides with spruce sound board on top. All major tone woods are solid on this model. Substantial depth of this model gives a strong tone and good projection. Sound board is decorated with abalone binding around the edges and an abalone rosette on the top. Bridge is a standard one. It`s made of ebony and features belly contour. Electronics are made by Fishman. Acoustic Matrix pickup is combined with Aura Pro preamp with control console installed onto the body. Neck is made of mahogany and it`s attached to the body with a dovetail joint. On top, there`s a 20-fret fingerboard made of ebony. Frets are decorated with elegant dots made of abalone. Grover tuners sit on the headstock.
