Martin Guitar Standard Series is the epitome of acoustic guitar with quality, tone and playability. These models have been at the helm of the industry`s acoustic division for decades. 2012 novelties have proved that Martin remains the leader of the pack. Among the guitars unveiled at the NAMM 2012 there also was D-18, a non-cutaway acoustic dreadnought from standard series. it has a body made of solid mahogany back and sides and a solid spruce top. The top is bound in tortoise color binding. The top also features a Delmar tortoise pickguard and style 18 sound hole rosette. D-18 comes in natural color with gloss finish. The bridge on this model is made of solid black ebony with 1930s style belly with drop-in saddle. The bridge also has a bone saddle and black string pins. The electronics are omitted from this model`s specs, but can be installed, if the player orders a D-18 with electronics. The neck is made of, like on all other Standard Series models, select hardwood with modified low oval profile wit performing artist taper and a dovetail joint at the 14th fret. The fingerboard is made of solid black ebony and sports 20 frets with old style 18 inlays and 1.75" wide bone nut. Other features include:25-2/5" scale, Waverly tuners and nickel hardware. The MSRP for D-18 is set at $2,899.
