D-18 VS belongs to the Vintage series in Martin catalog, it is a dreadnought with non-cutaway construction. Only the finest specimens of tone wood are selected for the vintage series, as it has a very special and demanding task of recreating the tone atmosphere of the prewar acoustic guitars and their tone. Solid mahogany and spruce are used for the body of this model, a combo equally popular back before the war, as it is now. Body of this fantastic dread is paired with Martin`s traditional V-contoured hardwood neck. Mortise & tenon joint connects them at the 14th fret. On top of the neck, Martin installs a 20-fret fingerboard made of ebony. 16" radius, dot inlays and 1.75" bone nut complete the fingerboard. Belly-contoured bridge is also made of ebony.
