The luxurious D-28 Bigsby is the second homage C.F. Martin Guitar pays to the late and great Merle Travis, one of the most influential guitarists of all time. Also, this is a tribute to the guitar Mr. Travis made popular back in the late `40s. Main features include a non-cutaway dreadnought body (East Indian rosewood back & sides, solid Sitka spruce top, forward-shifted X bracing, creme binding, teardrop-shaped tortoise pickguard), a hard maple neck w/Bigsby-style profile (standard 14th fret dovetail joint, satin finish), and top-shelf hardware. D-28 Bigsby features no electronics (no pickups, mics, or preamps). The List price is set at $3,999.00. Other notable features include a 20-fret ebony fingerboard, fixed ebony bridge, and nickel-plated enclosed tuning machines.
