One of Martin Guitars hidden gems, the M-36 has a very balanced tone, in between that of a classic dreadnought like a D-28 or D-18, and an OM model like a OM-28 or OM-21. It has a solid, not flabby bass response, just not quite as powerful as a dreadnought, and the real sweetness of this instrument's tone is the high end, which is clear, rounded, and gorgeous, not twangy at all. Overall the tone is quite balanced, with rich mids, and perfectly balanced lows and highs. Perfect for finger picking, and rings with fantastic projection flat picked, for a thin bodied instrument, this is one exceptional guitar in Martin's lineup, that may be overlooked. Check it out, the M-36, the current D-18, and the OM-21 are three of the best values at Martin these days.
