D-500 comes from the Gitane Acoustic series in the Saga catalog and it is one of the basic models of the series with MSRP being set at $995. Body of this model is made with single cut design and fully acoustic construction. There are no incisions on the body and no objects within the body cavity to obstruct the tone projection. Body of this model has standard depth and it`s made of rosewood back and sides with spruce sound board. Maccaferri body is very comfortable one and this model is no exception. It is paired with a mahogany-made neck through a 14th fret dovetail joint. Bridge section sports a rosewood bridge with trapezoid tailpiece in the back. Fingerboard is made of rosewood, as well and it sports a set of 21 frets with dot inlays.
