Fusion is the only Avalon Guitars` series made up solely of nylon-stringed models. Currently there are two of them, one spruce and the other cedar-topped. Also, they`re among the most affordable hand-made Avalon guitars, with basic price tags below $5,000. Fusion 2-20CN kicks off with a flat, single-cut body (there`s no non-cutaway version) made of east Indian rosewood back & sides and spruce top. Pear binding and wooden rosette grace the top. The neck is made of mahogany (14th fret joint, despite the nylon-string construction) and has a 20-fret ebony fingerboard on top. Six pickups (standard Avalon selection) are available as optional amplification (prices range from $375 to $675). Other major features include a classical rosewood bridge, Avalon AXE bracing and gold-plated tuners.
