2NE is a part of the NE series of Jose Ramirez`s Studio range. It is a budget model, originally designed by Jose Ramirez III and renewed by Amalia Ramirez in 1986. The basic price (no additional electronics, cases or shipping and customs costs) is set at 1.400€, making it the perfect starter Ramirez. 2NE comes in with a pretty fixed specs list, the only exceptions being scale length (standard 25-3/5" or slightly shorter 25-1/25") and amplification options (Scherter and Fishman sets are offered). Back and sides of the body are made of solid Indian rosewood, while the top is made of solid red cedar. 19-fret ebony fingerboard tops the neck. Solid rosewood bridge (with melamine saddle) and high quality tuning pegs complete 2NE.
