HB 8 belongs to the HB series of the USA/Canada segment of the Hagstrom catalog. This bass is essentially the same as the HB 4, as it only differs in the string count. HB 4`s standard four strings have been doubled with another four strings to give fuller and stronger tone. Other than that, these two models are the same. HB 8 comes with a solid, double-cut body made of mahogany in it`s entirety. Chrome-plated hardtail bridge is installed on it`s top and it is fronted with a pair of rail humbuckers. Controls unit consists of one volume, one tone and a six-way rotary pickup switch. Neck on this eight-string bass is made of maple and it features the 21-fret fingerboard made of resinator.
