Violin Bass was introduced back in 1950s and was popularized by Paul McCartney in the 1960s. This short-scale (30") four-stringer is still popular as it was back in 1960s. The greatest demand is for the old and vintage Violin Bass models, which has resulted in Hofner`s introduction of the 500 series. 500/1Vintage `63 is one of the brightest examples from this series. It comes with a fully hollow maple/spruce body, set in three-piece maple neck, nickel-plated hardware, active electronics (two active minibuckers), classic two-piece bridge and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
