SR celebrates three decades on the market this year and, accordingly, Ibanez has prepared some anniversary models. Instead of going for the classic approach, Ibanez opted for a quartet of semi-hollow models (two in Premium and two in Standard series).
SR30th5 is the SR Standard five-stringer, with semi-hollow body and standard 500-tier neck, hardware and electronics. The body does, however, sport the regular SR contour though it is chambered. Quilt mahogany top and plain mahogany back make up the body. The neck is made of five pieces of jatoba and bubinga and sports the SR5 profile in the back (and a standard 24-fret rosewood fingerboard on top).
Other major features include Accu-cast B305 (hardtail, top-load) bridge, Bartolini`s (passive) MK-1 soapbar pickups and die-cast tuners.

Just bought it and played it on a gig last night. I am very pleased with the playability. Very smooth and fast neck, string spacing is comfortable (not too close), and a killer bottom end. Hitting the low B gave excellent rumble. My sound guy said, "now that's what a bass should sound like!" Craftsman is superb, love the semi-hollow body. The set-up is spot on, right from the store. It's very easy to dial in the sound I want, very flexible.
