SR Series has been around for an entire quarter of a century and has, in that time, managed to revolutionize the world of solid-bodied electric bass. Cutting edge design, famous Ibanez balance and playability and exceptional selection of pickups have always pushed SR series models ahead of the competition. SR55SMLTD is the latest addition to the SR`s Premium class. It rocks the standard 34" scale, passive Nordstrand electronics, Modern hardware and exotic tonewoods. Letters LTD in its name indicate it is a limited edition model, but Ibanez does not specify whether there will be a limited number of copies or it would be available only for a certain amount of time. SR55SMLTD has a solid, double-cut SR body made of mahogany base and spalt maple/bubinga top. Open Pore Natural is the only available color option, featuring a matching headstock veneer and black hardware. The neck is an Atlas-shaped five-piece, made of wenge and bubinga and supported with KTS titanium truss rods. On its top Ibanez installs a 24-fret maple fingerboard with medium frets and oval abalone inlays. Nordstrand`s Big Single single-coils fill the bridge and neck positions, bringing a distinct, well rounded tone. Other important features include die-cast tuners and five-saddled Mono-Rail bridge.
