Artist series is one of many line of solid-bodied basses in MTD catalog. It belongs to the Kingston range, which is made in China for Michael Tobias. Design and construction of the models of this series clearly indicates that it was imagined and built as a weapon of mass destruction. Aggressive, bold and big is the tone of the Artist series. The Artist 4 Fretless is based on the regular Artist 4 model from which it differs only in the fingerboard section. Thus, it comes with a solid and double-cut body made of basswood with flat top and carved back. On the top, it features a four-saddled hardtail bridge and an open-coil humbucker with a standard four-piece controls unit. Fretless fingerboard on this one is made of ebony.
