In the past, Mr Tobias has worked with Gibson and Epiphone through his Tobias brand, but in last twenty years, He has worked solely through the MTD brand. MTD has a two-tier catalog: American tier models are made personally by the man himself, while the Kingston series and models are made across the Pacific, in China. Artist series in Kingston segment is made for players who like the rough and tough tone combined with simple and effective design and construction. Solid basswood body with a flat top, bolt-on maple neck with a fast contour, four-saddled hardtail bridge, lone full-sized humbucker with open pole design and a 24-fret fingerboard (maple and rosewood variants are available) comprise the core specs.
