ZX series stands on the middle ground between the standard Kingston and boutique American segments of the MTD catalog. Nominally, it does belong to the Kingston, but is closer to the exclusive American range. ZX models are five-stringers, exclusively. ZX 5 Fretless is one of two models in the current series lineup. It comes with a solid and double-cut body made of mahogany back and maple burl top. Contoured tops on the ZX series models feature no binding. Wide array of color options is available, with some being finished in gloss and some in satin. Five-saddled hardtail bridge is fronted by a pair of Bartolini soapbar pickups with a standard five-piece controls unit (master volume, balancer and a three-band equalizer. Fretless fingerboard is lined and made of ebony.
