ZX series represents the middle ground between the MTD`s Kingston and hand-made ranges. Currently, it is available only as a five-string model solid construction and modern design. Body of the fretted ZX 5 is solid, carved and made of mahogany back with a gorgeous maple burl top. Mahogany gives the strength with dark overtones, while the maple top helps focus the low end. ZX 5 is, thanks to it`s custom developed Bartolini pickups, an amazingly versatile bass which could blend into any style and genre player desires. Five-piece controls unit includes master volume, pickup pan knob and a three-band equalizer. Neck is fast, comfortable and lies perfectly in the left hand. On it`s top, there is a 24-fret fingerboard. MTD offers rosewood, maple and ebony variants.
