Big Al is a modern line of solid-bodied electric basses, oriented towards the players of contemporary music. It`s models feature a very clever combination of vintage and modern appointments, as well as an interesting pickups layout. Pickups on the Big Al are installed in the Strat-like S/S/S pattern. Bridge pickup is slanted, like on Fender`s iconic guitars. Controls installed on Big Al models let players choose between passive and active modes and give countless pickup combination possibilities. Body of the Big Al is solid, double-cut and made of mahogany. On it`s flat top, Music Man installs a plastic pickguard and a standard chrome-plated bridge with four adjustable saddles. Maple neck is bolted to the body and can be topped with rosewood, maple and pao ferro fingerboards. Rosewood and maple options have 22 frets, while the pao ferro comes fretless.
