StingRay was introduced back in 1976 as a four-stringed electric bass with bolt-on neck construction. The situation remained unchanged until 1987 when the first five-stringed Ray was unveiled. Fast forward another 25-30 years to 2015, and the introduction of the first-ever neck-through-body StingRay.
Stingray 5 Neck-Through is a beast in a league of its own. It offers supreme power, tonal stability, as well as complete access to the upper frets. Seven color options are available, all with chrome finish and rosewood fingerboards, except Stealth Black (ebony fingerboard, matte black hardware).
Specs list highlights include a solid maple neck, flat-top body wings made of ash, 22-fret fingerboard (34" scale, 11" radius, dot inlays), hardtail bridge, Music Man electronics (several pickups and controls configurations), and Schaller tuners.
