PRS is introducing new models fro 2013 and they arrive just in time for the NAMM Show, which will be held later this month. Nine new models are being introduced, of which, only two are electric basses. Both of these basses are signature models made for the famous Gary Grainger. This article is dedicated to the Gary Grainger 4 model. It comes as a solid, double-cut bass with four-string construction. This model is also equipped with carved top and bolt-on neck joint. Body is made of mahogany back and flamed maple top. Top is arched and it`s offered in a wide range of color options with high gloss finishes. Lack of binding and pickguard are trademarks of PRS design. Bridge section features a hardtail bridge with two saddles and string-through construction. Bridge, as well as the rest of the hardware, is plated in nickel. Pickups are made by PRS especially for the Gary Grainger models. They are active, humbucking and feature active electronics. Neck on this model is made of maple and it is bolted to the body. On top of the neck PRS installs a standard rosewood fingerboard with 24 frets with bird inlays.
