PRS and Gary Grainger have been working together for years, producing some of the finest basses around. Private Stock 4 and Private Stock 5 were the names of the models in Gary Grainger`s signature series. For 2013 PRS and Mr. Grainger have prepared a set of descendant models. They go by names of Grainger 4 and Grainger 5. These are also exclusive instruments made of some of the best materials available to PRS luthiers. This article is dedicated to the five-stringer. This extended range bass can sing in many tongues of blues, rock and funk, and also speaks several other music languages with high proficiency. Body is solid, double-cut and made of mahogany back with carved flame maple top. A multitude of color options is available for this model and they all come finished in high gloss. Bridge is a hardtail with nickel plating over it. Special GG humbuckers are installed on this model and they feature active electronics. Neck is made of maple, it`s equipped with GG 5 contour in the back and topped with a 24-fret maple fingerboard. Frets are decorated with beautiful bird inlays. Standard 34" scale and PRS tuners wrap the story on this one.
