Steinberger`s Synapse series is a line of four and five-stringed basses with a more conventional set of construction and design features than it`s sibling Spirit series. The most prominent difference is the use of set in neck joint, instead of Steinberger`s signature neck-through-body construction. Also, Synapse models have single-cut variants of the classic trapezoid body shape. 24-fret fingerboards, headless design, Steinberger bridges and super strong pickups are still there. XS-15FPA is one of two five-stringed models in this series and it features a single-cut body made entirely of maple. Hardware appointments on it`s top include a five-saddled bridge with five tuners in the back and a humbucking pickup in the middle position in the front. 24-fret phenolic fingerboard is series standard feature.
