Steinberger`s Synapse series of electric basses deals with four and five-stringed basses with classic "headless" construction and trapezoid-shaped bodies. Also, Steinberger bridges with tuning machines on the back side are featured on these models. Currently, there are four models in the series lineup, two four-stringers and two five-stringers. XS-15FPA Custom is the luxurious variant of the series standard five-stringer XS-15FPA. It`s body is solid, single-cut and made entirely of maple. Standard color palette includes Trans Blue and Trans Amber with gloss finishes and black hardware. Traditional Steiberger bridge with five tuners is installed on the top. Pickups section is equipped with a middle-positioned humbucker. Instead of neck-through construction, maple neck on Synapse models is set in. 24-fret phenolic fingerboard is installed on the top.
