Rockbass brand from Warwick is being updated with several models for the upcoming 2013 NAMM Show. One of them is the Trimph Bass Lite, an upright bass with 40" scale. Electric basses with upright construction are most certainly a rare thing to see and Warwick is entering the budget-friendly section of the market through it`s Rockbass sub-brand. Currently, Triumph Lite is the only model in it`s series, with more updates expected soon. Curious fact is that this bass is being based upon the original Framus design from 1960s. Triumph Lite is only available as a fretless four-string bass. Additional strings and fingerboard configurations are not yet available. Body of this unusual instrument is made of maple, it`s flat on top and clad in black. Bridge section is similar to ones found on regular upright basses, it has a fixed bridge in the front with a tailpiece in the back. This model is equipped with passive piezo pickup and passive electronics. Controls are located on the side of the body. Maple neck is bolted onto the body and it is topped with a fretless rosewood fingerboard. Vintage tuners and 40" long scale complete the list of features for this model.
